The National Auto Garage was probably built in 1907, by Ellsworth Beggs for his Beggs and Buckley Livery. Like many early buildings in Park City, it was built with a false front, which provided a large space for an advertising sign and also made the structure more imposing. As automobiles became more popular, the partners began servicing cars, changing the name to Beggs & Buckley Garage. Local sign painter Roy Fletcher, husband of Blanche Fletcher and father of Mel Fletcher, painted the National Garage sign which is still visible. Later when the business became the Sinclair Park Garage, Fletcher painted that sign as well; however this later sign has nearly disappeared. The garage business operated until 1942. A connecting structure between the garage and the Beggs home was later added.
