In April 1895, the Park Record reported, “C. H. Campbell has completed plans and specifications for an elegant new residence for John C. Weeter. Work will be commenced next week.” Elegant it was! The pyramid house featured Victorian decorative elements such as the fish scale shingles on the front façade. Also unique was the decorative pediment with a sunburst design attached to the front porch’s roof. The large seven room home may have been designed and built as a showplace for the lumber products sold at the Weeter’s Lumber Company.

John Weeter moved to Salt Lake City in 1888 where he became involved in real estate. He married Harriett Towne in 1892 and the couple moved Park City, establishing the Weeter Lumber Company. John later began lumberyards in other locations in Utah and Idaho. In 1899, John and Harriett sold the home to William S. Wright who worked for the Ontario Mine for 32 years until he died in 1914. Subsequent owners were local artist and photographer Willis Adams, Frank and Hulda Andrew, who operated a hardware and furniture store on Main Street, David Keith Buck, Tom Hansen, Laura Fisher, and Linda McReynolds, the current owner.
