The Blue Church Lodge was originally the first chapel of the LDS Church inPark City. The chapel was barely completed when the Great Fire of June 19, 1898 destroyed most of the town including the LDS Chapel. Reconstruction of the two-story structure began in 1899 and the assembly area was formally open for use on Sunday, March 18, 1900. The structural style of the building is considered utilitarian wood Gothic. In 1926, a 30-foot addition to the rear of the building was begun and completed by 1930. By 1938, work had commenced on an amusement hall on the lower level of the church. The building remained a house of worship until 1957, when church members voted to build a new chapel on Woodside Avenue. In December 1962, the new chapel was dedicated and the old chapel was sold to a private organization that converted it into a dance studio. It later served as an art museum, a rooming house and finally the Blue Church Lodge & Condominiums. An accidental fire in 1982 badly damaged the building, but it was restored in 1984 and was one of the first buildings in Park City listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
