Volunteer Opportunities
Museum Docent

Retired miner Rich Martinez shares photos and stories with docents.
- Time period
- Year-round, school tours mainly in May and June
- Description
- Guide young students and the general public through our wonderful exhibits, and share your knowledge and enthusiasm for Park City’s history with them. Training provided.
Walking Tour Docent
- Time period
- Summer – 2 – 3 pm, once a week
- Description
- Lead Park City visitors on a colorful tour of Main Street. Paint visions of the people who lived here, and tell interesting stories about ghosts and the historic architecture. Training provided.
History Library Staff
- Time period
- Year-round, once a week
- Description
- Help visitors explore our vast collection of historic photographs and objects, direct them to archival resources, and assist in researching ancestors and historic buildings. This position puts you in contact with interesting residents and visitors. Training provided.
Collections Assistant

- Description
- Get up close and personal with our vast collection. Help organize, catalog, and research objects that tell stories from Park City’s past. Training provided.
Oral History Interviewer
- Time period
- Year-round, flexible schedule
- Description
- Interview old miners and long-time residents of Park City to capture their perspectives on past events. Learn how to interview and transcribe, or edit what others have transcribed. Training provided.
Researcher
- Time period
- Year-round, flexible schedule
- Description
- Use our Research Library and the computer to investigate historic events, facts, and people. Organize them for future exhibits, home tours, lectures, and programs, or write “The Way We Were,” a weekly column in the Park Record newspaper.
General Office Help

- Help us keep track of our members and send out newsletters and membership mailings.
