The Park City Museum has more than enough fascinating jobs to keep you busy for a lifetime. We invite you to check out our menu of interesting volunteer opportunities.

You can do as much or as little as you like. Every volunteer has a specific task and real work to do. You won't be twiddling your thumbs.

Walking Tour Leader, Main Street
Spring, Summer, Fall
2 - 3 pm
One day per week

Lead Park City visitors on a colorful tour of Main Street. Hop the trolley and escort them down, painting visions of the people who lived here and the architecture they built. Tell funny stories and hone your knowledge of history at the same time. Training provided.

History Library Staff
Year Round
3 hours weekly

In our new History Library, help people  look through our vast collection of historic photographs, use our new microfiche machine, and direct them to archival resources. This is a meet & greet position that puts you in contact with interesting residents & visitors.

Sunday Museum Volunteer
One Sunday a month
Noon-3 p.m. or 3-6 p.m.

Welcome visitors to the Museum, answer questions about Park City history and Park City in general. Meet people from all over the world. Lock up at the end of the tourist day. Training provided.

Researcher
Year Round
Assignment-based

Use our local library or the computer to look up historic events, facts, and people. Organize them into notes for our Curators. Or write "The Way We Were," a weekly column in the Park Record.

Oral History Interviewer & Transcriber
Year Round
Assignment -based

Interview old miners and long-time citizens of Park City to get their perspective on events that happened in the 20th century. Learn how to interview and to transcribe what you learn so others can read the interview. Or edit what others transcribe.

Elementary School Tour Docent
Occasionally during school year
Various times during day

Man stations in the Museum during field trips by elementary school children. Give young minds a boost with your smile, your presentation, and your watchful eye for safety. Training provided.

Historic Photo Cataloguer
Year Round
Assignment-based

Get up close and personal with Park City’s historic photographs. Help organize, catalog, and research photographs from Park City’s local photographers. This is a great volunteer task for those who have a combination of good computer skills and creativity.
After School History Camp Docent
Spring
3:30-5:30 p.m.
One day per week, 6 weeks

Be part of an innovative new program-- an After School History Camp for 4th  -5th graders. Assist in creative activities, go on outings to mines and cemeteries, and keep an eye on safety

Assignment-based

Help us keep track of our members, send out mailings, and keep smiling. Bring in cookies.  We're a fun bunch.
